Information We Collect

When you use EditThisPic, we collect:

Email address - when you create an account or sign in, buy credits, or ask us to email you an edit; used for sign-in links, receipts, the emails you ask for, and product emails you can unsubscribe from
Images you upload and the edits made from them - used to make your edit; see Data Retention for what we keep and for how long
Usage data - pages visited and features used, for improving our service
Payment information - processed securely by Stripe; we don't store card details

How We Use Your Information

Process your image edits and animations
Keep the edits you save, so you can come back to them
Manage your account and credits
Send emails (sign-in links, receipts, edits you ask us to email you, and product emails you can unsubscribe from)
Review the quality of our edits and improve our service

Image Processing

Images you upload are:

Sent to third-party AI image-processing providers, who perform the edit or animation you ask for
We do not use your photos to train AI models
Kept only in the cases listed under Data Retention

Cookies

We use cookies for:

Essential cookies - session management, authentication
Analytics cookies - understanding how users interact with our service
Advertising measurement - measuring whether our ads lead to visits and purchases

Third-Party Services

We share data with these categories of service providers, only as needed to run EditThisPic:

Third-party AI image-processing providers - receive the photos you upload and your instructions, to perform your edits and animations
Payment processor (Stripe) - payment processing
An email delivery provider - sends sign-in links, receipts and the emails you ask for
A hosting, storage and content-delivery provider - runs the service and stores the images described below
Analytics and advertising-measurement tools - usage data, as described under Cookies

Data Retention

Account data - retained while your account is active
Edits in progress - an edited image waiting to be delivered to you is kept for up to 48 hours, then deleted automatically
Saved results - when an edit is saved so you can come back to it or buy it (including free edits saved this way), the photo you uploaded and the edited result are kept, together with any preview of it we emailed you. We do not currently delete these on a schedule: they are kept until you ask us to delete them or you delete your account
Multi-version edits and animations - the results, and the photo you animated, are kept so you can return to them, until you ask us to delete them or you delete your account
Your library and Studio reference photos - kept until you delete them in the app or delete your account
Share links - links shared by non-subscribers stop working after 7 days and the shared image is then deleted automatically; links shared by subscribers do not expire
Quality-review sample - a small random sample of edits (photo, result, and the prompt) is kept for up to 7 days so we can review edit quality, then deleted automatically. It is used by us only and never used to train AI models
Usage data - kept in our analytics systems; we do not currently delete it on a fixed schedule

To have your images deleted: delete edits from your library and Studio reference photos in the app; ask us to delete your account and everything linked to it; or, if you used EditThisPic without an account, email us the link to your saved edit (it is in the email we sent you, or in your browser's address bar when you reopened it) and we will delete the photos saved with it. Photos that were never saved and never emailed to you can't be linked to you, and are not kept beyond the cases above.
